Short Stroke Actuators Overview
Only the right drive solution makes motion cycles perfect. This is particularly important in high precision, rapidly recurring operations in the productronics industry. Schaeffler Industrial Drives offers Z-axis systems (short stroke actuators) for fast pick & place applications, optical inspection, test equipment and similar machinery to improve machine productivity.
LDDS-078 and LDDS-081
The compact actuators LDDS-078 and LDDS-081 are predestined for test and inspection applications in the productronics industry. Especially in turret handlers with an independent Z-axis actuator at each index position — short stroke systems where each indexing position is equipped with its own dedicated Z-axis actuator. They are characterized by high efficiency, long service life, and maintenance-free operation.

LRAM
Especially for short strokes, the positioning time is significantly influenced by the maximum achievable acceleration and therefore by the force/mass ratio. Schaeffler minimizes the moving mass of this linear motor using a patented solution.
The short stroke actuator LRAM-M-1.0-50/33/89-MR-K was especially designed for such ultra short positioning time of lightweight payloads like probers. The moving part of the motor is a ceramic plate which can be accelerated up to 1000 m/s² and is completely wear-free. The moving mass is only 10 g at a rated motor force of 10 N.
