Importance of Fit Accuracy
The accuracies of the fits and the geometrically correct design of all connecting parts are decisive for bearing function. Errors in the adjacent construction can substantially increase the friction torque.
The actual bearing outer diameter dimension is provided in the inspection report accompanying each bearing.

- Envelope condition applies - Dimensional tolerances include form tolerance requirements
- Countersink for threaded holes - Threaded holes require countersinking
- Bearing diameter D1 - Note the bearing diameter D1 in the data sheet drawing to ensure adequate distance between radial bearing ring and adjacent construction
- Surface roughness - Ra 0.6 um (mating surfaces)
Outer Ring Stationary (NGS Series)
When the outer ring is stationary, housing can be designed with clearance fit G7 or without centering.
Fit Recommendation
Housing can be designed according to G7 clearance fit, or without centering. Refer to the "Outer Ring Stationary Tolerance" column in the tolerance table below for specific tolerances.
Outer Ring Rotates (NGS-SBI Series)
Design housing diameter according to the tolerance table specifications below.
Running Accuracy Requirements
For maximum running accuracy, the clearance fit should approach zero. This prevents increasing radial runout.
Accuracy Recommendation
Fit clearance should be controlled to approach 0 um to avoid increased radial runout due to clearance.
Dynamic Performance Requirements
For oscillating operation and outer ring rotation, design housing according to the tolerance table.
High Speed Application Notes
- At higher speeds and long duty cycles, 5 um interference fit is no longer feasible for outer ring rotation
- Target 0 um clearance to achieve maximum speed and long duty cycles
- Matching selection of bearing and shaft is required in this case
- Actual bearing dimensions can be found in the bearing report
