10.2.6 Reference Marks
Standard Version
Incremental measuring systems cannot determine the exact position at power-on. Therefore, a reference track is added next to the incremental track. One or more reference points can be marked on the reference track.
MINISCALE PLUS guide rails are equipped with scale marks, with standard reference positions defined for all sizes.

Application Notes
Reference marks enable the system to quickly establish absolute position at startup. This is particularly important for applications requiring precise position control, such as automated equipment and precision machining machinery.
