The running and positioning accuracy of the application is directly dependent upon the geometric precision of the guideways, careful alignment, and the precision and rigidity of the surrounding structures.

Depending on the application, different levels of precision are required. SCHNEEBERGER linear guideways are available in three quality classes to meet various application requirements:

  • NQ* - Normal Quality
Represents normal requirements in mechanical engineering
  • SQ - Special Quality
    For very demanding requirements
  • SSQ - Super Special Quality
    For the most demanding requirements

Note: *NQ represents normal quality and is not listed as an ordering code subsequently

The tolerance value (Δ) for parallelism of the running surface relative to reference surfaces and positioning surfaces can be seen in the diagram below.

Technical Limitations

Regarding quality classes SQ and SSQ, the following technical limitations apply:

  • Maximum length is determined according to the "Dimensions and Load Capacities" table for each product.
  • Coating-related limitations (see chapters 7.6 and 7.7).
