15.2 Surface Quality
The surface quality of the support surfaces has no direct influence on the function and running behavior of the guideway, but it does affect static position accuracy. The carriage and guide rail are pressed onto the mounting surface with high force through the mounting screws. To prevent loosening of the assembly, a high surface contact ratio is required. This is achieved through high surface quality.
The accuracy of the application largely determines the required surface quality of the reference and positioning surfaces. Therefore, the following requirements must be ensured:
