Design Principles
The following describes the design requirements for the adjacent construction of AXRY-EX bearings. Pay particular attention to the accuracy of the connection surfaces, as any deviation will have an effect on the overall accuracy of the roller bearing.
In order to avoid a decline in bearing friction torque, accuracy requirements and running characteristics, the recommended tolerances may not be exceeded.
Press Fits
In principle, when the fit is too constricted, the radial bearing preload increases, and thus causes the following effects:
The following increases:
- Surface pressure in the raceway
- Bearing friction
- Bearing heat
- Amount of wear
The following is reduced:
- Maximum speed
- Life time
Clearance Fit
If the rotating ring is not supported by interference fits, displacement of the rotation axis raceway to the table centre is probable. The clearance from the fit table to the bearing bore (this also applies for the clearance from the bearing outer diameter to the table with a rotating outer ring) can add to the radial runout.
No support or insufficient support of the inner ring leads to undefined operating conditions such as vibrations, radial runout errors and repeatability problems. In order to achieve the rigidities offered in the product chapter, the following table dimensions must be adhered to.
Recommended Minimum Wall Thickness of the Table
- AXRY model: Bearing model (by outer diameter series)
- Minimum wall thickness [mm]: Recommended minimum wall thickness of the table
- Max. passage [mm]: Maximum permissible passage diameter
| AXRY model | Minimum wall thickness [mm] | Max. passage [mm] |
|---|---|---|
| AXRY 50 | 12 | 26 |
| AXRY 80 | 12.5 | 55 |
| AXRY 100 | 15 | 70 |
| AXRY 120 | 16 | 88 |
| AXRY 150 | 16 | 118 |
